I’m Mindee. I’m 40-something and the older I get the more I realize that there’s not much in this life I can control.  Not my kids, not my hormones, not the laundry … even the pets pretty much do as they please.  So I’m learning to let go of trying to have the illusion of control.  It’s quite freeing actually.

I’ve recently moved to a little town in Northern Minnesota with my husband, Rich, and our youngest child.  The other two are off at college.  Adjusting to a new home in a new town and a new state is … a process.  So is coming to grips with my rapidly emptying nest.  I find it helps to spend a few minutes at the end of each day telling God all the things I’m grateful for - and there’s always a good number of things on that list.

For many years I was a stay at home mom.  Then I worked as a secretary at a middle school and from there moved on to be an Executive Assistant at University of Nebraska.  Right now I’m not sure what I’m going to “do.” But while I figure it out, I’m keeping busy trying to turn our new house into a home which involves a lot of paint, patience and elbow grease.

Come on in - I’m eager to make new friends.  I don’t know anyone around here anyway. ;)
